Here's a realtime tutorial showing how to paint lilacs in acrylic- and using cotton swabs! Ok, so we use a brush a bit too. From a simple background, to drawing general shapes, this lesson is great for all ages and you don't have to worry about messing up - it's acrylic! Learn how to go over edges, emphasize contrast for composition, and use broken color on your brush to create texture. I'll show you how to draw out the basic shapes of the lilac flower and leaves using shapes you already know how to draw.

I used Phthalo green and Dioxazine purple, and those color names matter if you want to mix blue from them too!

Acrylic paints used: Titanium white Phthalo green Dioxazine Purple Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue
